Executive Protection

Close, discreet support for senior individuals travelling where an assessment shows elevated risk genuinely warrants it — delivered by operators selected to match the client, the environment and the threat.

A team drawn from operational experience

Initiative Training Group has access to protection specialists drawn from the UK Special Forces community — including former SAS and SBS personnel — alongside operators from specialist police and military protection backgrounds. This gives us a genuinely deep pool to match against any client's specific requirements.

Every Close Protection Operator we deploy holds an SIA Close Protection licence recognised by the UK Home Office, alongside recognised first aid certification and a minimum of 150 hours of close protection and conflict management training. Many hold UK Government security clearance and undergo DBS checks to BS7858 standards. Where relevant, operators bring additional medical, protective driving or language skills — selected to fit the client's lifestyle and operating environment.

How a deployment decision is made

Every engagement begins with a security review and threat analysis specific to the individual — considering profile, itinerary, reputation and the operating environment. Close protection is recommended only where that analysis shows it is genuinely warranted, never as a default.

Where it is warranted, we present a small number of suitable, carefully matched operators for the client to choose from — visible and overt where the situation calls for it, or discreet and low-profile where that better suits the client's environment and preferences.

Confidentiality, as standard

Initiative Training Group is registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO registration Z3558575). Client information is never shared with third parties except where operationally necessary and authorised, and every operator signs a non-disclosure agreement before deployment.

This extends beyond paperwork: our operators are trained to work discreetly, without drawing attention to the client or the arrangement itself.

Independent audits of existing EP teams

Organisations that already run an in-house or contracted executive protection function can commission an independent audit — reviewing team competency, protocols, equipment and value for money against the same proportionality standard we apply to our own deployments.
